Buscar actualizaciones a mano
No hace falta esperar.

Charly for Mac updates itself: it looks for new versions, downloads them without bothering you and tells you when one is ready. You decide when to restart to install it.
What it does by itself
It looks for new versions 30 seconds after you open Charly, every 2 hours while it's open, and when you come back to the app after a while.
If there is one, it downloads it in the background, without interrupting you or your agents.
It doesn't install by itself: installing restarts Charly, so it waits for you.
Every version is signed by us and checked by Apple (notarized). Charly verifies the signature before installing: if it doesn't match, it doesn't install it.
How it tells you
When a new version is downloaded and ready:
A notification appears at the bottom: “Charly 1.0.4 is ready”, with a Restart button.
A fixed button stays at the top right, “Update ready · 1.0.4”. Even if you close the notification, it stays until you restart, so you won't miss it.
Press either when it suits you. Charly closes, installs the new version and opens again by itself within seconds.
Check for updates by hand
No need to wait. There are two places:
From the menu
In the menu bar, click Charly (next to the Apple menu).
Choose “Check for Updates…”.
It tells you how it went: “You're up to date”, or it downloads the new one and tells you when it's ready.
From Settings
Open Settings (⌘ + comma, or the gear at the top right) → General.
Under Updates you'll see your version and its state: “you're up to date”, “downloading 40%” or “1.0.4 is ready”.
Press “Check for updates”. Once one is ready, the button turns into “Restart and install”.
What happens to your agents on restart
Agents on your Mac: they close when Charly restarts. When it's back, you can pick up their conversation from the history. If one is in the middle of something important, let it finish before pressing Restart.
Agents on a server (SSH): they keep working on the server. Charly reconnects when it opens.
iPhone and Apple Watch: they lose the connection for a few seconds and reconnect by themselves.
See which version you have
In Settings → General → Updates (for example, “Charly 1.0.3 · you're up to date”).
The latest version is always on getcharly.dev too, under “Download”.

What to do
“I couldn't check for updates”
No internet connection, or the site didn't answer
Check your connection and try again from the menu. Otherwise it tries by itself in 2 hours.
The new version you saw on the site doesn't show up
Charly hasn't looked again yet
Charly → “Check for Updates…”
It restarted but it's still the old version
It couldn't install (permissions or disk space)
Download the DMG from getcharly.dev and drag Charly to Applications, replacing the old one. You keep your settings and projects.
You have a very old version without the “Check for Updates…” menu
The first versions only looked every 6 hours
Restart Charly: within 30 seconds it will find the new one. Or install the DMG from the site.
